Project Ascend Logo

Project ASCEND/McNAIR is housed at the CUNY Graduate School and University Center. The Project is funded by the United States Department of Education and its purpose is to encourage promising CUNY undergraduates from low-income families and underrepresented groups to pursue doctoral study at the graduate school of their choice. (If you are only thinking about a master's degree right now, that's okay.)

We offer various services to help you through the graduate school application process and to prepare you to embark on graduate level study.

Here is a short list of the many services we offer:

Workshops to improve your writing and research skills.

Opportunities to meet with Doctoral Faculty and Students.

Information about financing graduate study.

Guidance in choosing a graduate school.

GRE Preparation Courses.

Summer Research Fellowships to selected students.
